Alphabet Letter Cut and Paste Sets

Learning to recognize letters is a key preschool and kindergarten skill.  I have found that making a letter craft once a week really helps a child memorize what each letter looks like (plus let’s be honest, its fun!).  I made these letter crafts larger in scale so they are the perfect size for kids working on their cutting and gluing skills.  They will be able to hold the paper themselves and turn as they cut.  Here’s all the letter crafts included in my Uppercase Letter Cut and Paste Set:

Here’s all the letter crafts included in my Lowercase Alphabet Cut and Paste Set.

Each week as you do a letter craft, be sure to teach your kiddos different things that start with the selected letter and work on tracing and writing the letter.

Another activity I’d recommend each week is a letter hunt!  It’s a super easy activity and to help you out, I’ve included the letter squares for you here.  All you need to do is xerox the letter squares (enough for each child to find 2 letter squares) on to colored paper and then cut them out.  Here’s my ready to go letter A pile!

Now that my letter A’s are ready, it’s time to hide them around the room!

Before students go around and hunt for letter A’s, explain to them that they need to find 2 different colored A’s.  Tell them when they return to you with their letters, they need to come back and say, “I have a red A,” or “This is a yellow A.”  Now they are working on both color and letter recognition!

I like to cut out all my letters from A to Z at the beginning of the year and laminate them so I can use them from year to year.  I rubber band each pile (all my A’s together, B’s, C’s etc.) and keep them in a tub so I have easy access to them each week.
