Spooktacular Halloween Ghost Craft

Fall is one of our favorite times of year! I’m so excited that Halloween is only a little over a week away! What are you and your kiddos dressing up as this year? Does anyone still dress as the classic ghost? I feel like I haven’t seen one in years! Regardless, this adorable Ghost Craft is a fun way to get into the spooky spirit! Let me show you how easy it is to use this fun craftivity with your kids!

What You’ll Need for This Craft

The ghost craft is simple to prep and complete at home or in the classroom. You’ll only need a few things! Here’s the list of items you’ll need to get started:

  • Halloween Ghost patterns, photo of craft, & directions included in the download
  • Construction or colored paper: black, purple, orange, your skin tone color, & white
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Black marker or sharpe marker
  • Pencil (if you want to trace the patterns)

The patterns come with 2 options: patterns where you can print them directly onto construction or colored paper OR patterns you can print on to white cardstock and use as tracers.  Below you can see them printed onto colored cardstock, so all you have to do is cut the pieces out and glue them together.

I now have coloring page options if you prefer to have your kids decorate their crafts on their own! These templates can be printed onto plain, white paper for students to color any time of day. You can use them on rainy days when you can’t go outside or on days when there isn’t any other morning work prepared. The kids always enjoy creating their own crafts to display and take home. It’s a fantastic way to practice fine motor skills, staying in the lines and filling in all the white space.

Creative Ideas for the Craft

The ghosts are the perfect addition to a Halloween themed bulletin board in your classroom or hallway. You can use wording that says, “Meet Our Boo Crew” with all of their names next to the ghosts. You can also make a display that says, “Our Class is Spooktacular”. They also make great displays for outside the library with wording that says “Grab a Good BOOOOOOK!” There are so many creative and fun ideas for using a cute ghost craft! I always love to hear and see yours, so feel free to share them with me!

If you’re feeling especially creative, you can cut an oval out where the ghost’s eyes are. Then, take a picture of each of your students eyes to put in that space instead. You can print it in colored or black and white ink. It make take a while to take all of their photos and glue them behind the ghosts, but they’ll love seeing themselves “dressed” as ghosts on the wall. They can even get other people to guess which ghost is theirs, just by their eyes!

Happy Halloween!
