Books to Read With Your Clover Man Craft

Before starting your St. Patrick’s Day craft, read a fun story to get kids engaged and excited about their activity. Here is a list of some of our favorite titles and links to videos where you can watch them.

Kids will love these exciting stories as you introduce them to the fun 4-leaf clover craft. Read them as part of your whole group lesson and then send the kids off to complete their activity. Once finished, they will love seeing their crafts up on the bulletin board for all to check out.

Supplies Needed for The St. Patrick’s Day Craft

All you will need for this craft is the template and some glue. Print the shamrock template onto colored construction paper. Let the kids cut out the pieces or pre-cut them before you start the activity. The pieces are pretty easy to cut, so most kids should be able to do it themselves.

Kids can color their 4-leaf clovers any way they want. I like to use varying shades of green!

If you want your kids to color the craft themselves, print the two-page coloring templates onto plain white paper. Students can color their clovers in the morning.

Attach the legs and arms to the clover. Add his little boots and tiny hat. Don’t forget his cute eyes and smile! These sweet crafts will bring tons of good luck on St. Patrick’s Day!

Ways to Use the Clover Man Craft

Crafts always open the door to so many activities. Pair the craft with a fun writing prompt like “I Feel Lucky When..” and let kids share their thoughts. It’s always fun to hear when kids feel lucky!

The clover man craft is easy to assemble and makes fantastic classroom or hallway decor for March.

Use the craft to study the letter C for clover or S for shamrock in preschool or kindergarten. Students will love listening to one of the books above and then making their own lucky clover man!

Once everyone has created their own clover, display the crafts on your March bulletin board with wording that says, “Always a Lucky Day in Room 201” or “Our Lucky Clovers”. The kids will love seeing their hard work displayed up on the wall.
