Over the years, you all have shown me some super creative ways to make this Reindeer Craft your own! Kids love customizing their activities and this is the perfect one to use for the holidays. This Cut and Paste Reindeer is easy to prep, great for fine motor skills and perfect for pulling Santa’s sleigh!
How To Use the Pattern
You can use this Reindeer Pattern with your kids any way you like! The possibilities are endless, especially if you put them up on a bulletin board.
To prep the craft, just print the templates onto paper. You can print them onto plain white paper or colored cardstock. Kids can color their reindeer or get right to cutting and pasting. Additionally, you can pre-cut the pieces for students who may not be able to cut around the sharp angles on their own.
Once everything is cut out, glue the pieces together to make your reindeer. If you aren’t sure how it should look, don’t worry! This resource comes with a picture and instructions for assembling the craft. It doesn’t get any simpler than that!
Creative Ways To Personalize The Reindeer Craft
I have seen many variations of this adorable Reindeer Craft, and I love each of them.
Some teachers have used the students handprints to make the antlers instead of the provided template. This give the craft a little more personalization and it makes a fantastic keepsake parents will cherish. Have the students trace one another hands or you can help them one by one. It may take a little extra time, but they become more special.
I have also seen teachers make their own Santa to display with the reindeer. They put a speech bubble with him saying “On Jamie, On Clarence, On Stephanie…” instead of the reindeer names. The kids find this pretty funny to be referred to as reindeer.
To further that idea, teachers have printed their students’ faces onto paper, cut them into circles and glued them to the reindeer face. It looks a little silly but super cute nonetheless! The kids feel a sense of community and inclusion when they see their sweet faces on the wall.
If you are putting all of the reindeer up on the wall, you can purchase small bells from the dollar store to place around their necks. The kids will love the jingle jangle of the bells and it really makes your bulletin board display POP! If you’re extra creative, you can put a red light on one of the reindeer’s nose to make Rudolph!
