End of the Year Flower Gift Card Bouquet for Teachers

My daughter just finished her first year of preschool and as an end of the year teacher gift I made a gift card bouquet  for both teachers.  About a week before the last day of school I wrote a letter to all the parents in the class asking them to donate if they’d like to be a part of it and with all their contributions it made for a really nice class gift that the teachers can enjoy all summer long.  I tried to pick a nice variety of gift cards which included PF Changs (went to Costco and was able to get an addition $25 free), Bath and Body Works, Fandango, Walmart, Target, Dunkin Donuts, and Panera.  Here’s the finished gift:

I started this project by hot gluing a block of Styrofoam on the bottom of the inside of a mason jar.  I then filled in the sides of the mason jar with fun foam letters to hide the Styrofoam and make it cute!  I took ribbon and stringed it around the mason jar and then added the tag by hold punching it and tying it within the ribbon.

To make the gift card holders, I made construction paper flowers (you will need 2 for each gift card) and cut them out.  Then I took a dowel rod (painted them green and cut them down a bit first) and hot glued it on the bottom of one of the flowers.  I then sandwiched the other flower on top of it and used a glue stick to glue the bottom 4 petals of each flower together.  By doing this the 5th petal becomes a pocket to hold your gift card.  To finish the flower, place the circle on top of one side of the flowers.  You can make as many flowers as you’d like, but 5 looks really nice and you can fit several gift cards in each flower if you’d like.You can see on the bottom flowers, I fit 2 gift cards in each.  Once the flowers are finished you can stick them into the Styrofoam at different angles to arrange them into a bouquet.  When they are all in, stick a few more fun foam letters in the mason jar and then your all done!  You can grab the flowers patterns and tag here.
