Ways to Use the Pot of Gold Activity

There are so many ways to use this Pot of Gold writing prompt. In preschool it’s a great way to practice the letter P! After completing the craft it can be hung in the hallway as a decoration. Teachers and students will love checking out the cute craft lining their hallways.

Crafts are great for fine motor skills because they usually involve cutting, tearing and gluing small pieces together. This activity is great for cutting around rounded edges. It’s also helpful with handwriting because students have to add their own writing to the prompt.

This St. Patrick’s Day Writing Craft can be completed as a whole group while you dictate instructions or you can have students complete it during small group rotations so you can help students with individualized needs.   • This writing prompt is super simple for students that need more help with writing. It’s the perfect hallway display for preschoolers in March.

  • This version of the writing prompt is very sweet because students write about reasons they are lucky. The kids always write that they are lucky because of their families and their amazing teachers. They also come up with silly reasons they are lucky and I love reading those sentences!

  • I really enjoy listening to my students share why they feel lucky. This is similar to the prompt above but they can write about more specific experiences.
