Preparing to Make a Bucket Name Craft

Prepping all of my crafts is super simple! I have the templates laid out for you, so all you have to do is print them onto your desired paper. I like to print mine onto colorful construction paper or cardstock for durability. Other options are to print the templates onto plain white paper and let the kids color the templates themselves.

The templates include a bucket, bucket handle, starfish, crab, shovel, and squares to write the letters of each child’s name. On the bucket template is a space to write the child’s name as well! This makes for plenty of practice with name recognition as well as letter recognition!

The personalized bucket name crafts are adorable hanging up around the room.

Print the bucket, handle, and shovel in any color you would like. I printed my starfish on yellow cardstock and my crab on red cardstock just to match the typical colors of those animals. If you are able, print the buckets on each child’s favorite color to make them more personalized!

If you aren’t sure how to prep the craft and piece it together, I created a video on my YouTube channel to help out. It walks you through the step-by-step instructions for completing the craft.

Watch how I create the craft in this video! It’s a great way to see how easy it is to prep and put together.

Coloring Your Own Beach Bucket Name Craft

If you don’t want to print the bucket templates on colored cardstock or construction paper, print them on plain paper and let the kids color them. Use the regular templates or there are 3 pages of coloring templates that kids can use. I created these for distance learning, but they have proven useful for all occasions!

Kids will love customizing their own bucket crafts with crayons, markers, or colored pencils.

Using the Name Craft in the Classroom

The Beach Bucket Name Craft is a fantastic activity to use in the classroom before the year is over. Students will love having their own personalized bucket with their name on it. Print the templates and complete them during small groups for a fun activity.

They also make great whole great instruction additions. You are able to watch the kids follow directions as they complete the craft. Give each child their materials and walk them through each step.

Use the craft to learn about the letter B (for bucket or beach). Pair it with a fun book about the beach or summertime and then let the kids get crafty. The crafts also make a great reward for kids motivated by fun crafts! Offer it as incentive for amazing behavior in the classroom.

The finished products are cute additions to a summer bulletin board and the kids will love taking them home.

Other Occasions to Use This Name Craft

Children who have summer birthdays may have beach-themed parties! These crafts would be a fun activity to have out for kids to do during the festivities. They can write the letters of their name on the squares and bucket to personalize them. They will love taking them home as a little party favor to hang on the fridge! It’s a nice alternative to candy favors.
